DENVER — Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced Boards and Commissions appointments to the Governor’s Commission on Community Service (Serve Colorado), State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund, Colorado Municipal Bond Supervision Advisory Board, Nursing Home Innovations Grant Board and Colorado Tourism Office Board of Directors.
The Governor’s Commission on Community Service (Serve Colorado) recommends to the Governor a comprehensive national and community service plan for the state that is developed through an open and public process and updated annually. The plan addresses the state’s needs in the areas of school safety, youth violence prevention, literacy and mentoring of disadvantaged youth. The Commission also administers funds received from the Corporation on National and Community Service.
For terms expiring Aug. 24, 2018:
Floyd Cobb II, PhD of Aurora, to serve as the Commissioner’s designee for the Colorado Department of Education, and occasioned by the resignation of Alisa Dian Dorman of Highlands Ranch, appointed;
Monica Roers of Denver, to serve as a member with experience involving older adults in volunteerism and occasioned by the resignation of Catherine Lasnik of Arvada, appointed;
