Gov. Hickenlooper statement on President Obama’s executive actions on gun safety

DENVER — Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper released the following statement today after President Obama announced executive actions to prevent gun violence.

“Background checks keep guns out of the wrong hands. In Colorado, expanded background checks prevented more than 27,000 illegal purchases since 2012, including more than 100 denials based on prior arrest or conviction of homicide. The President’s orders are an important step in saving lives across the country.”

Gov. Hickenlooper to deliver remarks at the Sand Creek Healing Run and Remembrance event

John Hickenlooper will deliver remarks today at the 17th Annual Spiritual Run and Remembrance event commemorating the 151st anniversary of the Sand Creek Massacre. He will also announce initiatives to help foster healing and write a new chapter in Colorado’s history.

Gov. Hickenlooper presents first draft of Colorado’s Water Plan

DENVER — Tuesday, Dec. 9,  2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper tomorrow will present the first draft of Colorado's Water Plan. The plan, representing feedback from hundreds of stakeholders in both urban and rural communities and an array of industries and environmentalists, is the end result of the governor’s executive order issued in May of 2013.
