DENVER — Tuesday, Dec. 9,  2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper tomorrow will present the first draft of Colorado's Water Plan. The plan, representing feedback from hundreds of stakeholders in both urban and rural communities and an array of industries and environmentalists, is the end result of the governor’s executive order issued in May of 2013.

Gov. Hickenlooper joins Colorado military for the lighting of the 2014 Tree of Honor

DENVER — Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 — Gov. Hickenlooper will join Maj. Gen. H. Michael Edwards, the Adjutant General of Colorado, and the Colorado National Guard today for the lighting of the 2014 Capitol Tree of Honor. The tree lighting ceremony honors all Colorado-based service members who have died in combat operations since Sept. 11, 2001.

Gov. Hickenlooper joins tribal representatives at Sand Creek Massacre remembrance ceremony

DENVER — Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper will join elders, representatives and descendants of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes and other elected officials for a ceremony commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Sand Creek Massacre.

Many state offices closed on Thursday

DENVER — Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 — In observance of Thanksgiving, many state offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27.

State driver’s license offices, the Department of Public Health and Environment’s vital records office and executive branch departments will be among the facilities closed Thursday.

Most of Colorado’s state parks will be open but the visitor centers and administrative offices will be closed.  State troopers will be patrolling the highways and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will be working as necessary.

Gov. Hickenlooper to attend grand opening of I-25 expansion

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper will join local elected officials and members of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to celebrate the completion of the I-25 expansion project on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014. The interstate has been under construction to widen a stretch of highway between Monument and Colorado Springs in order to improve traffic flow and increase safety.

Gov. Hickenlooper to visit Colorado Mushroom Farm in Alamosa

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper will tour the Colorado Mushroom Farm in Alamosa on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 as it prepares for it’s grand reopening celebration. With support from a state economic development program, the eight acre farm will reopen and provide employment to 250 people in the San Luis Valley. The farm will have a public grand reopening on Monday, Oct. 27 for the community.
