Gov. Hickenlooper orders flags lowered in honor of Pearl Harbor Navy ensign John Charles England

DENVER — Friday, Aug. 12, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, in honor of Navy ensign John Charles England.

England, a Pearl Harbor hero, was officially classified as among the unknown who died aboard the USS Oklahoma on Dec. 7, 1941. England's remains were positively identified this year after nearly 70 years in an unmarked mass grave in Hawaii.
