DENVER — Thursday, June 26, 2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper will highlight the importance of Colorado’s new Elder Abuse Mandatory Reporting Law that takes effect on July 1, 2014.

Senate Bill 111-13, signed into law in May 2013, requires that certain professionals report incidents of suspected abuse, neglect or financial exploitation of individuals age 70 or older. With the law’s implementation, Colorado joins 47 other states in providing enhanced protection for Colorado’s seniors.
