DENVER — Tuesday, April 8, 2014 — Gov. John Hickenlooper will join the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Board on Wednesday in Lyons to announce new grants for flood-impacted communities to restore damaged parks, trails and open spaces. A new trail corridor will also be announced.

WHEN: 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014

WHERE: Meadow Park, Lyons. (Park has been closed to public since last fall’s flooding but will be open for media to park in dirt parking lot.)

DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 25, take Exit 243 toward Estes Park/ Rocky Mountain; turn left onto CO‐66 W/CO Rd. 30 (15 miles); turn left onto Main Street (.2 miles); turn left on CO-7; turn right into Meadow Park, follow road to the left to parking lot.

The grant money will fund 14 flood recovery projects in Boulder, El Paso, Jefferson, Larimer, Morgan and Weld counties. Eleven of the 14 GOCO-grant projects will use youth corps or volunteers to help implement the projects.
