DENVER — Friday, Sep. 16, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced Boards and Commissions appointments to the Colorado Commission on the Aging and the Colorado State Child Fatality Prevention Review Team.

The Colorado Commission on the Aging conducts studies and encourages other organizations to conduct studies of the problems of the state’s elder people. The Commission works to promote and aid in the establishment of local programs and services for the aging and aged.

For a term expiring July 1, 2020:

  • Connie Mae Ring of Springfield, to serve as an Unaffiliated from the Fourth Congressional District, appointed.

The Colorado State Child Fatality Prevention Review Team reviews the individual case findings of the local and regional review teams and creates reports based on those findings to make specific recommendations regarding systemic trends across the state that may help prevent future child fatalities. It also helps Coloradans understand the causes of child fatalities, encourages public action to prevent further child fatalities, and identifies services provided by public, private and nonprofit agencies to children and their families that are designed to prevent child fatalities.

For terms expiring September 1, 2019:

  • Sabrina Byrnes Burbridge of Golden, to serve as a representative of the Office of Colorado’s Child Protection Ombudsman, reappointed;
  • Leora Joseph, JD, of Centennial, to serve as a district attorney, reappointed.
