DENVER — Monday, April 7, 2014 —  The book selected for this year’s One Book 4 Colorado giveaway will be announced today and read in English and Spanish to Colorado 4-year-olds.

One Book 4 Colorado is a collaboration of Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia’s Office, Colorado State Library, Denver Preschool Program, Reach Out and Read Colorado, and Serve Colorado that provides young children with access to books and promotes a culture of literacy. Modeled after the successful Preschool One Book One Denver program, 75,000 copies of the winning book will be distributed in English and Spanish to four year olds at public libraries, Denver Preschool Program preschools, and Reach Out and Read Colorado health clinics. The 2014 book finalists were Pigsty by Mark Teague, Grumpy Bird by Jeremy Tankard and How do Dinosaurs Learn their Colors? by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague.
