DENVER – Monday, June 15, 2015 – Gov. John Hickenlooper announced several Boards and Commissions appointments to the State Innovation Model Advisory Board.

The State Innovation Model (SIM) Advisory Board provides advice, oversight and guidance over the operation of the Office of State Innovation Model and the management of grant funds. It also provides recommendations about how to better integrate behavioral and physical health in Colorado. For terms expiring  at the pleasure of the governor:

  • Vatsala Rhona Kapur Pathy of Denver, Colorado, to serve as the Director of the Office and as Chair of the Advisory Board, appointed;
  • Reginald L. Bicha of Denver, Colorado, to serve as the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services, appointed;
  • Susan Ebner Birch, MBA, BSN, RN of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to serve as the Executive Director of the Department of Health Care Policy and Finance, appointed;
  • Marguerite Salazar of Alamosa, Colorado, to serve as the Commissioner of Insurance, appointed;
  • Lawrence I. Wolk, MD, MSPH of Englewood, Colorado, to serve as the Executive Director of the Department of Public Health and Environment, appointed;

for terms expiring June 1, 2018:

  • Jeannie Ritter of Denver, Colorado, to serve as a representative with experience and knowledge of behavioral health, appointed;
  • Patrick Damian Gordon of Denver, Colorado, to serve as a representative with experience and knowledge of health information technology, appointed;

for terms expiring June 1, 2019:

  • Glenn M. Madrid, MD, FAAFP of Grand Junction, Colorado, to serve as a representative with experience and knowledge of primary health care, appointed;
  • Lilly Marks of Greenwood Village, Colorado, to serve as a representative with experience and knowledge of health care delivery, appointed.
