Gov. Hickenlooper orders flags lowered to honor the victims of the tragedy in Paris

DENVER — Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be flown at half-staff on all public buildings statewide beginning immediately through sunset on Thursday, Nov. 19, in honor of the victims of the tragedy in Paris, and as proclaimed by President Barack Obama.

Gov. Hickenlooper orders flags lowered for Springfield paramedic

DENVER — Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, Nov. 12, on all public buildings statewide in memory of Springfield paramedic Rick Hartley. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset.

Hartley, 63, died on Friday, Nov. 6 as a result of an auto accident while transporting a patient in an ambulance.

Former Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar statement on attorney general lawsuit

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 — Ken Salazar, former Colorado Senator, Attorney General and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, today issued the following statement regarding Gov. John Hickenlooper’s petition to the Colorado Supreme Court requesting that the court clarify who has the authority under Colorado law to make the state a party to a civil action:

Gov. Hickenlooper announces disaster designation for four Colorado counties due to spring freeze

DENVER — Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today approved a primary county disaster designation for Delta County, due to damages and losses caused by severe freezes that occurred from April 2 through April 19, 2015. Gunnison, Montrose and Mesa counties were also declared contiguous disaster counties.
