Gov. Hickenlooper joins bipartisan group of governors calling on Congress to renew DACA funding

DENVER — Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 — Gov. John Hickenlooper along with 10 other governors today sent a letter to Congressional leadership urging action on behalf of Dreamers. They called for a bipartisan resolution to continue funding for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA.

Gov. Hickenlooper sends request to Joint Budget Committee to extend CHP+

DENVER — Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today sent an emergency supplemental request to the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) to extend Colorado’s Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) through February.

"Vulnerable children and pregnant women are being used as bargaining chips,” said Governor John Hickenlooper. “This request is not a cure. It’s a one-time only bandaid as we wait for Congress to do what’s right and secure CHIP funding.”

DENVER — Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 — Today, Gov. Hickenlooper joined a bipartisan group of 12 governors, urging Congress to move quickly and reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance program. About 75,000 children and nearly 800 pregnant women in Colorado stand to lose health care coverage if the program is not renewed.
